More Information

Our Menopause blood test will give you the answers you need about your health and whether you may be starting the menopause.

Going through the menopause can be a really challenging time, with big changes in your hormone levels typically taking place in your 40s or 50s.

Symptoms can have significant physical, mental and emotional side effects, with women commonly experiencing mood swings, hot flushes and faintness, fatigue, disturbed sleep, weight gain and anxiety or depression.

Some women can experience menopause earlier than normal, and even for those who are expecting it in the next few years, symptoms can start much earlier – this is called the menopause transition or perimenopause.

Our menopause blood test will check your level of hormones to identify any changes and highlight whether you may be experiencing menopause.

We also include checks for your thyroid health and function, because some menopause symptoms can actually be caused by thyroid problems instead. It’s not uncommon for thyroid dysfunction to start in your 40’s or 50’s – so we will help you understand whether you are experiencing the menopause, thyroid problems, both, or neither!

Please note:

Please take your sample in the morning. Do not take biotin supplements for 2 days prior to this test. If you are taking prescribed biotin you should discuss this with your doctor.

It’s important to note that all female hormone cycles are different and fluctuate significantly at different times, so there is a chance that your results show normal hormone levels even if you are experiencing the menopause. If that is the case and you are still experiencing symptoms we recommend taking another test in 4-6 weeks to check your levels again.

The Oestradiol marker is only available in the in-clinic test. If you choose a home test kit, Oestradiol cannot be included.

You must be over 18 years old to use this test.
