More Information

Our General Health home blood test provides you with a general health check up, covering the key areas of health that affect everyone. These health issues are also some of those which cause the most serious short and long term health problems, from anaemia (a common cause of depression, poor sleep, fatigue, chest pain and headaches) through to heart disease and stroke.

This includes tests for liver and kidney function, bone health, blood iron levels and a full cholesterol profile. Ideal for giving you a better understanding of your general health, it can also identify health problems such as:

  • High cholesterol – a leading cause of heart disease, heart attack and stroke
  • Liver failure or cirrhosis
  • Kidney damage or disease, often caused by high blood pressure or diabetes
  • Gout, a very painful form of arthritis that causes build up of uric acid crystal in your joints
  • Anaemia, or low blood iron levels
  • Haemochromatosis, also called iron overload, caused by excessive blood iron
