Premium Complete Blood Test

Comprehensive panels in the UK range from about 40 to 70 markers. The Premium Complete Blood Test measures 61 and is our most comprehensive test for both men and women; our Signature Well Man and Well Woman tests go further, to 66 and 67 markers, by adding advanced heart-risk markers, cortisol and a PSA or CA-125 marker. What matters more than the headline number is coverage: a genuinely comprehensive test should include a full thyroid panel with antibodies, liver and kidney function, a lipid profile, HbA1c, iron studies, inflammation, sex hormones, key vitamins and a full blood count. This one covers all of those.

All 61 markers, grouped by what they tell you:

A full body blood test shows how your major organs and systems are working right now: whether your thyroid is under- or over-active, whether your liver and kidneys are under strain, your cholesterol and blood-sugar control and therefore your heart and diabetes risk, whether you are low in iron, vitamin D or B12, whether there is inflammation, how your sex hormones sit for your age, and whether your blood cells are normal. It does not image your organs, so it is a complement to a scan rather than a replacement, and it cannot diagnose every condition. What it does well is find the common, treatable problems behind tiredness, weight change, low mood and poor recovery.

The Premium Complete Blood Test is £249 at one of 200+ Goodbody clinics or £269 with a nurse visiting your home, including the venous draw, laboratory analysis of all 61 markers and a GP report. Private comprehensive panels in the UK typically cost between £200 and £400, and some providers charge extra for the blood draw or the doctor's review. Ours is one price.

You can ask, but NHS GPs order individual tests to investigate symptoms or monitor a known condition, not a wide screening panel for someone who feels well. A typical GP screen for tiredness, for example, is a full blood count, thyroid, kidney and liver function and perhaps ferritin and HbA1c. Hormones, vitamin D, trace metals and inflammation markers are rarely included unless there is a specific reason. If you want the broad picture without a symptom to justify each test, a private panel is the practical route, and your GP report can be shared with your own GP if anything needs following up.

Yes. We ask you to fast for 8 to 12 hours before your sample is taken, so book a morning appointment and have nothing but water from the evening before. Fasting keeps the triglyceride and glucose-related results comparable with the reference ranges. Take any regular medication as normal unless your GP has told you otherwise, and eat as soon as the sample is done.

Not directly, and no blood panel should be sold as a cancer test. A full blood count can show changes such as anaemia or abnormal white cells that prompt further investigation, liver and kidney markers can be affected by disease, and raised inflammation can be a flag. The Premium Complete test does not include tumour markers; our Signature Well Man and Well Woman tests include PSA and CA-125 respectively, and we offer dedicated cancer screening tests separately. Any unexpected result in this panel comes with GP guidance on what to do next.

Choose Premium Complete if you want the full thyroid picture, a complete hormone profile and trace metals in one unisex test. Step up to a Signature test for advanced cardiovascular markers and a prostate or ovarian marker; step down to an Advanced Well Man or Well Woman test if you want a thorough MOT at a lower price.

Yes. The hormone section reports testosterone, free testosterone, SHBG, oestradiol, progesterone, prolactin, FSH, LH and DHEA-sulphate, so it reads correctly for either sex, and your GP report interprets each result against the reference range for your sex and age. Women should note the date of their last period when booking, as hormone levels vary across the cycle. The test does not include the sex-specific cancer markers PSA or CA-125; those are in the Signature tests.

Results are emailed within 5 to 7 working days of your sample reaching the laboratory; the thyroid antibody and trace-metal tests take a little longer than a basic panel. You receive every result with its reference range, plus a GP report that explains what each section shows, flags anything out of range and says what to do about it, including when to take a result to your own GP.

For most healthy adults, once a year is a sensible rhythm: it gives you a baseline and shows trends in cholesterol, HbA1c, liver markers and vitamin D before they become problems. If a result is borderline, your GP report may suggest a repeat in three to six months. If you are making changes to diet, training or supplements, testing before and three months after is the clearest way to see whether they worked.
